About this project
Hark is meant to be faster and more useful than the other ways I capture things on my phone. A personal assistant I can talk to, with the right thing happening without me opening an app or typing it out.
Underneath it leans on bits I already built for other projects. Whisper handles the transcription. A local AI reads what I said and decides what it actually was: a shopping list item, a calendar entry, a note, a todo. Then it calls out to whichever app on the server should hold that item. I already had Whisper running, I already had the local AI, I already had the shopping list and the calendar and the notes app, so most of Hark is glue.
It is still early days. The shape is working but I haven't finished filling in the corners yet. When it is done, the aim is that most of my quick day-to-day capture goes through Hark instead of me opening individual apps. It should feel like a personal assistant that happens to be wired into the rest of my server.
